Attract a Long Life With Positivity

2.26.14 Attract a Long LifeDo you know someone who is just always happy; always has a smile on their face and a matching one in their heart?  Do you know someone whom you can’t remember ever seeing angry, and no one else can remember ever seeing angry either?

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a surprise birthday party for my great-aunt who was turning 90 years old.  Aunt Ella is the most genuine example of a kind, happy soul you could ever wish to meet.  Just being around her makes you smile and inspires you to be a better person.

The invitation to Aunt Ella’s party asked, in lieu of gifts, that everyone write Aunt Ella a letter reminiscing about fond memories with her.

I started my letter to her saying that it was no coincidence that she has lived such a long, blessed life; her light, jovial spirit has been keeping her young for many years.  If you met her, you would never guess her to actually be 90 years old; her smiling face, ability to still get around well, and remarkable memory fool all those around her into believing she is many years younger than she actually is.

I am telling you about Aunt Ella because she is an excellent example of how filling each cell of your body with positivity all of your life—singing happy songs, speaking kind words and giggling lots, along with exuding love and acceptance of everyone you meet—does a body good, so to say.

So, keep your Magnet smiling.  Radiate out from your soul a sense of peace and contentment…and really feel it!  Live in the now and really enjoy yourself while doing so! Give exaggerated hugs to those you love, and to those you newly meet.  Look into people’s eyes and really listen to what they are saying, don’t just appear as if you are paying attention.

Life can be short; plenty of wonderful people die too soon.  But, then there are those who live so long and it makes you wonder if they have a special purpose.  Strive to be like Aunt Ella—inspire those around you to be the best, and happiest, they can be by practicing what you preach!

Accept Change like a Caterpillar

2.19.2014 Change is goodAre you a creature of habit?  Are you comforted by a reliable routine?  Are you thrown into a tizzy when you are forced out of your comfort zone by change?  Change: that magnificent entity that differentiates between the old and the new, the familiar and the unfamiliar.

Depending on our point of view, change can mean different things to different people.  For many, it is seen as something scary and unwanted, something to resist at all costs.  Something BAD.  Is it like that for you?

Growing up, I never did well with change.  Change made me nervous and I always needed a lot of time to adjust to changes in my life until I became comfortable with them.

I recently opened my trusty Secret Daily Teachings to a random page, like I always do, and came to Daily Teaching #134.  The inspirational information offered on this page talked about change and how we often resist it; it explained that life IS change and that “change is always happening for the good of you and for everyone.”

It’s true.  When you really think about it, everyone and everything is constantly evolving.  Imagine if a caterpillar resisted its evolution into a butterfly because it didn’t know what to expect and if it would like its new self?

I think we can all agree that the change the caterpillar experiences results in a betterment of its situation, right?  So, why can’t we all imagine ourselves as caterpillars every time change comes our way?  Change is inevitable anyway so why not picture it resulting in something beautiful, like a free-spirited butterfly?

So, when you find yourself face to face with a change in your path, or any unknown for that matter, don’t allow your Magicality Magnet to flip by expecting the worst.  Have faith in knowing that change is a part of life and believe that change has appeared in your life for a reason, a GOOD reason.  Every change is there to cradle you as you transform into the new you, a happier you, living in a better situation.

Repent from Negativity, Embrace Positivity

2.12.2014 RepentHave you ever thought you understood a word, and thought it carried with it a negative connotation that turned you off to it, only to have someone offer you a completely different perspective and thereby change your viewpoint all together?

Have you ever heard or used the word “repentance” before?  You may have heard it used like, “Repent for your sins.”  Whenever I heard this word, I felt it evoked such a heavy sense of dread and guilt; it was not a positive word for me.

Everyone makes mistakes or “sins”—we are human, we aren’t perfect—but I disagree with the way this phrase makes me feel, as if I am a terrible person, doing more wrong than good, almost as if all of the “good” things I do go unnoticed or simply brushed aside.  I felt that “repenting” was doing nothing but focusing on all of the negative stuff until I heard a great sermon by the reverend at our church.

Reverend Martin explained to us that repentance can also mean a change of mind, or to turn away from something and turn to something else.  This definition spoke to me.

He encouraged us to “turn from the shadows and move toward the light;” he urged everyone to actually physically “get up” when you are in the shadows, when you are feeling despair and hopeless, and move into the light toward happiness.

I love this image and this new idea of repentance.  Anytime you change your state of being, anytime you flip your Magicality Magnet, you are repenting.  You are in control.  You can decide to alter anything in your life, whether it be your thoughts, your words or your actions.  You are changing the coarse of your life by moving away from the darkness, away from negativity, and stepping in the direction of positivity and light.  So opt to leave negativity behind and be surrounded by positive warmth and sunshine.

When Rancid Lemons Produce Delicious Lemonade…

2.5.14 Sweet EndingsHave you ever had what you thought was a “bad” circumstance turn out to lead you to something incredibly positive and opportunistic?

It is easy to get caught up in the negative when you feel it is being piled on you and that you are starting to sink but when you refuse to be weighed down by situations that are testing your strength of positivity, often the greatest clarity and solutions to unanswered questions arise.

This happened in my life a few months ago.  My son was having terrible anxiety about getting on the bus in the morning—it was a new routine for him since we used to walk to school in our old house.  I have been using EFT tapping for about 5 years; it is a stress-relief tool that is a cousin of acupuncture, you tap on the end-points of the energy meridians on your body which helps to balance your energy system and bring you peace.  I was tapping with my son, which brought him some relief but I was apparently having trouble getting to the core issue that was causing him to still be upset at times.

I decided to look into finding an EFT Practitioner that perhaps specialized in working with children; I thought it might be worth paying a professional to help him clear this problem once and for all.  I hated seeing him so distressed and upset.

While looking on the Internet, I found only two practitioners that fulfilled this request.  To my surprise, one was located in NY, close to where we live (it is not necessary to tap with someone in person—it can be done over the phone, or Skype as well).  While checking out her website, I came to a page that said she was holding a 3-Day EFT Workshop for FREE and I hadn’t missed it!  I was so incredibly excited!  I had never been to a workshop and been surrounded by other people who love tapping as much as I do!

It also said that attending this workshop would count toward some of the requirements for becoming an EFT practitioner, if you chose to do that.  While I have truly loved EFT since the first time I used it years ago, and it has made a remarkable difference in my life that I am incredibly grateful for, I had never really allowed myself to seriously consider being a practitioner…until now.

In the end, while my son’s anxiety wasn’t a good thing, I am grateful for it because it has enabled me to pursue this passion of mine and it is turning out to be something that I am naturally good at.  I am almost done with all of the requirements to be a Certified EFT Practitioner! Plus, Bo’s anxiety seemed to melt away as well…icing on the Magicality cake!

Hitting a Home Run

So, when life throws you a curve ball, or hands you some rancid lemons, don’t assume it will be your third strike or that the lemons are “bad” and deserve to be thrown away, follow that swing through to the end cause it may turn out to be a home run that you hit, or the lemonade that quenches your thirsty soul like nothing else ever!

Here’s to bad pitches sent over the fence and surprisingly delicious lemonade made from rotten lemons!

Hang Up Your Worry-Towel and Dress Yourself in The Present Moment

1.22.14 Worry TowelAre you a worrier?  Do you try to plan things out, living in the future, so that you can avoid pitfalls and problems?  Are you constantly thinking about all the “what ifs” that every situation and circumstance carries with it?

Uhh, man, if so, you are in good company!  I was always a “planner” and a worrier…even as a very young child.  I didn’t like to put myself in situations that I might get physically hurt in or look “stupid” by making a mistake (this is still a work-in-progress for me).

One of the older kids in our neighborhood group actually nicknamed me “lecture woman” because I was always telling everyone to “be care” and that they shouldn’t do whatever it was they were doing, if they were doing the wrong thing, because they were going to get in trouble.  I was so young, I didn’t even know what “lecture” meant!

For someone who had “worrying” so ingrained in her, in my thoughts, in my emotions, in my every cell of my body, it was not easy to just stop worrying.  After all, I was a worrier, it was one of the ways I described myself, it was who I was.

It wasn’t until I really became aware, on my own, how my worrying was really affecting my life and the quality of my living it that I became ready, and committed, to changing this trait of mine.   By worrying all the time, I was essentially keeping my focus on all the negative possibilities that I could encounter in the future.

I was never allowing myself to live in the NOW; I wasn’t allowing myself to fully enjoy the good experiences in my life because I was always so caught up in planning to try to ensure good experiences in the future.

Luckily, we have Magicality, and our own personal Magnets as our guide.  Worry is a negative thing and your Magicality Magnet abides so whatever you worry will happen, your magnet will quickly flip to a frown and coordinate with the Universe to call that worry into reality.

So, don’t allow your Magnet to make those worries and concerns come true.  Worrying about the future robs you of the present moment!  Don’t allow your worries to take over.  Stop them dead in their tracks.  Ask yourself when you notice yourself worrying which way your Magnet is pointing while you worry and decide if that’s the way you want it to be and flip accordingly.

Stop the endless worry cycle! Start living in the now, a positive now, a now filled with present moment happiness and appreciation!  Strive to cut back your worries and live more in the moment.  If I can do it, you definitely can too!

Positivity Looks Good on You!

I came across this quote recently and it really spoke to me.

Do you know someone, or have you ever noticed someone, that is just always negative and actually has a puss on his or her face to match?  You know, those people that seem to have a perma-frown engraved on their faces—even when they do smile, it doesn’t seem to fit them because it’s so out of the norm?

This is because the thoughts that are usually flowing through their cells—the worries, the criticisms, the negative expectations—not only affect them internally (usually these people succumb to many dis-eases and other maladies) but externally also (their skin, their hair, their posture and their expressions).

1.1.14 Positivity Looks GoodYour thoughts clearly display themselves on your face and therefore influence your appearance.  When you are feeling good—thinking positive thoughts, feeling positive emotions—you will exude a positive vibration for everyone, and everything, around you to see and feel.

When this happens, you will encounter positive circumstances which will include other positive people and experiences…and the cycle continues.  This is the cycle you WANT, the cycle to continually strive to keep!  Positivity looks good on you and you will continue to attract more of the same!

Do you think it’s a coincidence that many of the “evil” characters in books and movies, especially children’s books and movies, are painted to be ugly?  No one wants to look like Cruella De Vil!  She acts crazy, is mean and self-centered and has the looks to prove it!

Me, I’d rather have sunbeams shine out of my face because of the positive thoughts I hold within me, wouldn’t you?  So, take notice of your body when your magnet is frowning.  Are your muscles clenched in anger or frustration?  Are your eyes slightly squinted and the corners of your mouth forming a taut frown?  Catch yourself when your mind starts to runaway train to Negative-ville.  Don’t end up like Cruella!

Playing Truth or Dare with The Universe…

12.11.13 Truth or Dare

Have you ever played Truth or Dare?  I never was a fan of the game because I felt I was cornered with either choice; you never know what to expect if you choose “Dare” but sometimes the “Truth” can be just as scary as the dare might be.

The interesting thing about that game is that you have no control over the dare but you do have control over your truths.  Your truths are created each moment of your life.  They are your past, present and future.  You have had a hand in all of it, whether you like it or not.

Unlike people, the Universe does not play Truth or Dare.  It has no interest in Dares.  The Universe only believes in Truth; that is all that it is interested in from you and all it will ever offer you.

The Universe believes in being truthful with you at all times therefore it will always prove you to be right; whatever you believe in your thoughts, in your mind, in your soul, in your senses, in your emotions, the Universe will show you only things to prove you right.

The Universe will never lie to you.  All that happens in your life is a reflection of your thoughts; it is your truth. Your world around you is living proof.

But, you can decide, at every point in time, in every moment, what your truth is. So, because of this power, because of this special ability, you are able at any moment in time to recreate your truth.

Be who you want to be. Think those positive things that you wish to be truth. Make them your truth. Be positive instead of assuming the worst. Allow yourself to be the best YOU you can be, with all the best things.

Make every statement in your head a positive truth because the Universe will make it so! Whatever you wish for will be reflected back at you by the Universe, because the Universe only ever tells the Truth, so make it a good wish!

May all your wishes be positive and truthful!

Using the Law of Attraction to Become an Optimist

Do you view the glass as half empty?  Then you would describe yourself as a pessimist.  Just because this label currently defines you, you have the power to change!

Yes, a pessimist can change its preverbal stripes, unlike the zebra.  If you are currently labeling yourself as a pessimist, know that you can change.  You need to start having positive affirmations in your life.

When you begin to feel like your pessimist self and start thinking of negative thoughts, use this technique to get on the optimistic positive path.

Right now, think of the happiest time in your life and remember the feelings it gave you.  Imagine right now what that moment was and envision yourself there.

Think of all the details that made up this moment down to the feelings that you had that day.  Allow this memory to consume you until you feel completely happy, just as you did the first time you lived this scene.

Then, anytime you are feeling negative or bad about a situation invoke this wonderful memory into your consciousness and feel the emotions as if you were reliving that happy time once again.  Think of the moment until you are consumed with that happiness.

This exercise will put you back into a positive energy and help you flip your Magicality Magnet from facing down to facing up.  When you have a magnet that is facing up it seeks to attract positive events and circumstances into your life.

Sometimes, you may give this exercise a go and realize that your bad feelings are too overwhelming for you.  In these instances, you need more than just a happy memory to turn your frequency back up.

Right now think of an activity that you love that makes you feel happy and relaxed.  It could be anything like exercise, running, biking, yoga, painting, playing an instrument, drawing or anything at all that you love doing.

Then when this uber unhappy feeling comes your way that you can’t use your happy memories to turn around, make a conscious decision to do your happy activity.  It will bring your mental state of mind to a positive one and wash away those negative emotions.

Remember these two methods and start practicing them.  The more you practice, the easier it will become.  And before you know it, once pessimist has now turned optimist.

Have faith in yourself.  I sure do!

The Power of Apology in Living the Law of Attraction

Have you ever observed small children navigate the social waters and occasionally bump heads with one another such as fighting over a toy and then casually giving each other a retaliation punch?

If so, were you also able to observe how the parent handled the situation? Most parents seem to immediately jump in and instruct their child to, “Say your sorry,” which is usually followed by the child saying it somewhat under his or her breath, without feeling or remorse.

Like children, we can all lose control of our magnet at times, I certainly do here and there, it happens, we’re all human, but it is important to make right what you may have done wrong.

The trick is being aware of the fact that you had a momentary lapse in sticking to your higher-self-path. As soon as you realize this, flip your magnet back the way it should be, back to its manifestation smile.  Then, reexamine the situation that made you lose your cool, that made your magnet teeter, and see if there is a way to rectify the negativity that you may have had a hand in.

The best, and most assertive way to do this is by simply apologizing to anyone you may have affected (like when it is bed time, and your patience are running low, and you snap at your kids and send then off to bed in a house full of tension energy).

Ask yourself if whatever made you step outside of living the Law of Attraction and back into the “it’s everyone else’s fault” world was really worth it….and if you really dig deeper, most of the time it isn’t the outside source that you blame for causing your break from Magicality in the heat of the moment, it really is something that is going on inside yourself.

Therefore, I think you may agree with me, that an apology is in order. (That’s when you hug your kids, look them in the eyes in the morning and tell them you love them; tell them that you apologize for losing control over your magnet and you are sorry for yelling. They will appreciate it, even if they are little, and will look to emulate the example you are setting)

Apologies are powerful because they signal to the universe that you are aware of your thoughts, emotions and actions; that even though you may make a mistake occasionally, you are quick to fix it–and hopefully learn from it.

Be grateful for your momentary magnet misdirection because it is a lesson to learn from, but be even more grateful for your noticing it and correcting it. And, don’t worry, your apologies won’t go unnoticed; the universe will send you signs of thanks as well…and be sure to thank it right back!

So, don’t fret when you make a wrong turn (and your magnet follows), just be sure to offer a heart-felt, sincere apology to all involved…universe and magnet included.

May all your apologies bring you much positivity in return!

Living the Law of Attraction…Magicality Magnet Style

A very important component of Magicality is your Magicality Magnet. Your magnet has been with you ever since you were a baby, yet few of us realize it till much later in life, if at all.

If you are here reading this blog, you should consider yourself special since you essentially have a leg up in living a law of attraction lifestyle if you recognize, and respect, the power and potential your Magicality Magnet has in helping you manifest the life you want.

The relationship you have with your Magicality Magnet is cyclical; your magnet feeds off of and follows in the direction of your thoughts, actions and emotions while, at the same time, when you examine your thoughts, actions and emotions, you will get a clear indication of which direction your magnet is facing and whether it needs to be adjusted or not.

It’s “like attracts like”, so think happy, attract more happy; think angry, get more angry reflected back.

And here’s the GREAT NEWS!  You have total control over your magnet just by controlling your thoughts!  Let me say that again, when you know your magnet must be facing down because you are obviously in a shitty mood, you can choose, right then and there, to flip it over so it is smiling again!

Now, I know you are probably thinking, “I can’t just ‘change’ my mood so quickly like that? This sounds impossible!”  I know it may sound difficult, and believe me, less than 5 years ago, I would have totally scoffed at this advice myself. (I never bought into the whole, “put a smile on your face and it will make you feel better;” I looked at it as, “If I’m in a bad mood, I’m not going to cover it up with a fake smile.”)

But, in actuality, you aren’t faking anything—you are CHOOSING to change your thought patterns and there is nothing fake about that.  And, if I am able to snap myself out of a bad mood within minutes or hours, as apposed to days or months, like years ago, so can you!

The key is remembering to be aware and ask yourself, “Which way is my magnet facing right now?” and flip accordingly.  You’ll be surprised how much easier it is to do than you think.  That’s what makes Magicality so magical!
