“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” ~ Peter F. Drucker
Happy Monday wonderful readers!! With the hustle and bustle of Easter weekend, it wasn’t easy for me to stay present. How have you been holding up with living in the now?
Do you ever find yourself saying things like:
“I can’t wait for the weekend”
“I can’t wait for my vacation”
“I can’t wait for the holidays”
“I can’t wait…insert any slew of options here”
I’ve realized anytime that I say the words “I can’t wait…“, that I am no longer present. You can’t possibly be living in the now if you’re always waiting for the next moment to happen.
So this weekend was super busy and I found myself getting a bad migraine and then next thing I know I was can’t waiting the weekend away! Have you ever fell victim of a similar circumstance?
Up until now, I never realized I was wishing my life away and that I wasn’t experiencing the true happiness that each moment presents itself. Right now decide to be happy. Decide to be present so that every moment is one that you look forward to.
This makes me think of the movie Click with Adam Sandler (spoiler alert)…
If you’ve seen the movie, you know he basically can’t wait to get to every next stage in his life, that he goes his whole life on cruise control never really experiencing any joy or happiness. He misses out on every milestone and happy moment and then his life is over.
When you aren’t present and living in the now you are essentially using the remote control of your life to stay on autopilot. You’re life is passing by and you aren’t really experiencing the joy it truly brings.
Just like in the movie, Adam Sandlars character gets a second chance at life to live without the remote. This is YOUR second chance. Right NOW. Choose to take it.
Be present. Watch your life be overwhelmed with joy!
Until next time, make magical moments! Xoxo 🙂
This week you should practice forgiveness. The only person hurting from holding grudges is the holder of the grudge–YOU!
The above image explains how to detach from your ego to end an argument. This is a great reminder on the first step to forgiveness.
Forgiveness can also be to forgive yourself
for something you may be still holding onto. Forgive yourself so you can move on.
Decide what may be impeding your happiness and work this week towards the goal of all encompassing forgiveness. Not an easy task but I have faith in You to do it!
Until next time, have magical moments! Xoxo 🙂
I may have mentioned my ” inspiring quotes board” to you in the past; it started out with the intention of being a vision board but soon was instead covered by positive, law of attraction quotes that brought me cheer and has been that way for 5 years now.
One of the quotes I still have pinned up on this 3′ x 4′ cork board of mine is, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” This quote has special significance for me. While laying in bed one night a few years ago, letting my eyes dart where ever they may on the board that hung on the wall next to my bed, reading the quotes by the light of my bedside lamp, I came to this particular quote, which I had read numerous times before, but found it to suddenly have a completely new meaning to me.
I’ll never forget it because reading this quote that time actually made me stop in my tracks and perked my head up, physically and mentally.
While I had always interpreted myself as the student waiting for guidance from someone who would have something to teach me along my life path, this time when I read the quote I realized I was both the student AND the teacher.
I have always loved school and I enjoy being a student learning from those who have information to share with me, but at that time in my life, I was trying to figure out what I was going to “do with myself,” what career I would pursue, and it was a big decision that was stressing me out.
Reading, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear” that night, I felt I was given a sign of Magicality that I should become a teacher, that I WAS a teacher. I interpreted the quote to mean that when I was ready, the teacher in me would appear to me; I would recognize the teaching profession to be the profession I was meant to enter.
Just thinking about this now gives me chills–it was such an epiphany-type of moment that I will never forget the feelings and thoughts it evoked in me…and still does.
A couple days ago was the first time I have substituted in over a year and it was wonderful. Though there have been many times I have questioned the decision to become a teacher, and been resistant to pursuing a teaching job even with my teacher certification completed, whenever I am working in a school, all those feelings of love and energy fill me up and express to me that I am where I am supposed to be, I should accept it and have faith that it will be better than I hope it will be.
We’ll see where this all takes me–I am still open to the signs of Magicality as they enter my path and open to the information that the “teachers” I meet in my life have to share with me–but for now, I feel more confident and excited about pursuing a full time teaching position.
I am curious to hear what your interpretation was of this quote when you first read it. Does it mean something different to you?
Here’s to being ready when the right teachers appear in our lives!
As discussed last week, I am still focusing on being more present in my life and hope you have begun to do the same.
I love to watch Super Soul Sunday on Oprah’s OWN network. For the past several Sundays I’ve been watching the mini series A New Earth with Oprah and Eckhart Tolle. It’s been really eye opening and I look forward to it every week.
I recently came across this post on Facebook:
This short film clip really made me see the ego in a whole new perspective. The ego, whom lives inside us all, does not define who we truly are. Recognizing this will be so profound for you. Any time you begin to speak or act out of anger, anxiety or fear, recognize that this is not you—It is your ego and you are not your ego.
In the words of my husband:
You truly are not your ego. Your ego exists in the past and in the future and that’s when you allow it to have hold over you. Learn to be present and watch the ego dip away.
Next week I will delve more into the power of the ego and ways to silence that inner voice that causes you to be anxious, nervous, afraid, etc.
Until next time, have magical moments!
Hello Lovely Readers!! We are super excited and grateful because Jacki the totally amazing blogger over at Flying the Good Flight, has nominated Tales of Magicality for the Liebster Award! We are so honored and stoked all rolled into one!!
After some research (and reading Jacki’s blog post) we discovered that “the Liebster Award is given to bloggers with less than 500 followers by other awesome bloggers to help spread the word on us smaller operations. How awesomesauce is that? I’m diggin’ the whole “pay it forward” vibe.”
Here are the rules, for those (like us) who are not in the know:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you. (Thank you again Jacki!!)
2. Answer the Questions given to you.
3. Nominate other blogs with less than 500 followers.
4. Post Questions to be answered by your nominees.
5. Tag & link your nominees & leave a comment letting them know they’re nominated, appreciated, & loved!
So, without further ado, here are the Questions Jacki posted for us to answer:
1. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment so far in life?
For me, I would have to say my biggest accomplishment in life so far is following my true hearts desire. In 2010 I moved cross country from New York to San Diego. I love where I live but I love more that I followed my heart. I’ve taken that leap of faith as an example for me to continue following my heart and inspiration!
Well, it may sound funny, but I think my biggest accomplishment in life so far is learning I have control over my moods and learning to keep myself in a happier state of mind the majority of my days the past couple of years….that’s right, it took almost all of my life to get here so that’s why I consider it a huge accomplishment. In all honesty, I really have the Law of Attraction and the creation and recognition of my Magicality Magnet to thank….as well as my Magicality Buddy, Rayna.
2. What are three things that make you smile?
My sons smile, Nature and being able to help others.
My kids playing nicely together, enjoying loud music in my car with the sunroof open on a sunny day and 4-wheeling my Jeep to our secret camping spot.
3. What is your favorite color & what do you think it says about you?
My favorite color is currently blue and I think it reflects my love for the ocean and all things beach and sky! 🙂
Hmm, I am a real lover of COLOR–many, many different colors–but I suppose my all time favorite is green; the name of the green I painted in my old house was “Wilderness” and the name of the green in my current house is “Fraser Fir.”
4. What would you say is the main message behind your blog?
I would say the main message of Tales of Magicality is to inspire anyone that needs some inspiration. We are on this journey of self discovery and awakening with You, the reader, so we hope you can relate to what we have to say. Hopefully it inspires you in some way!
I would say the main message that Tales of Magicality is trying to express is that we are all human, we are all a work in progress; while it can be easy to get discouraged in life, it is possible to live a more fulfilled, happier life when you are aware of all the wonderful things that come across your path–everything has meaning! Practice makes perfect…and it pays off with a happier YOU!
5. What is the greatest obstacle you’ve overcome so far in your journey?
For me, my greatest obstacle in this journey called life has been going through a divorce. But without this event occurring, I wouldn’t have came across the law of attraction and the many wonderful people in my life today. Everything has purpose in life. I learned to learn from my obstacles to make life so much better. Now my passion is helping others learn that too! 🙂
Well, I think the greatest obstacle that I have overcome in my life which offered the sweetest reward on the other side was college. I had a hard time finding my way. After leaving school, taking time off to work full time only to find that I truly missed school and learning, then searching for my right “fit,” I ended up in Lake Tahoe in a tiny Liberal Arts school and eventually met the love of my life while living there. Had I not experienced all those college-related “lows,” I would have never been drawn out west and met my husband. Everything happens for a reason…a good reason.
And now to pay it forward and present to you some really spectacularly amazing bloggers that we nominate:
And our QUESTIONS FOR THE NOMINEES:
1) What inspires you to be a better person?
2) What helps you stay centered when things may not be going as smoothly as you’d like it to be?
3) What’s your favorite thing about being a writer?
4) What is your favorite book and why?
5) What author(s) inspire you?
Thank you again for the honor of this magical nomination! We also are totally grateful to be a part of this awesome, empowering community of amazing people! We hope to connect with everyone as we spread our love, Inspiration and words! Love to you all!
Have a magical day!
Have you ever noticed how when you worry about something happening to you, that’s usually what happens? Doesn’t that stink!? And, unfortunately, that’s usually what we notice the most—the things we didn’t want happening, happening—even though we are constantly attracting good circumstances to us all the time too.
Take it from me, “the worry queen,” worry does no good! While I have been a worrier most of my life, I finally learned the hard way how powerful my worrying can affect me…physically.
Getting dressed up club style, platform heels and all, for my best friend’s bachelorette party in NYC, I kept stressing about falling and breaking an ankle or something while wearing my heels; I’m not one to wear heels more than a few times a year and this was one of those occasions. I even stuffed into the pockets of my coat my flip flops, my more usual style of footwear, in case my feet were killing me and I had to change my shoes.
One of the girls that was with us grabbed me by the shoulders as were getting ready to leave for the club and said, “Mar, you are not allowed to stress tonight! You are here to enjoy yourself and that is what you are going to do. Everything is going to be fine!” I thanked her for the reminder that snapped me out of my negative state and ended up having a great time dancing the night away till 5 am…without falling or tripping once.
It wasn’t until we got home that my worry magnet brought my worries to life, like there was a delay in the universe’s delivery system.
While stepping out onto the balcony when we got back to the apartment, with my flip flops on at that point, oddly enough, I fell on the side of my ankle and come to find out the next day, after being encouraged by my husband to go to the ER, that I fractured my ankle in 3 places; my first broken bone ever.
At first I didn’t make the connection between my thoughts only hours prior to my broken ankle and its actual “breaking point,” but once it dawned on me, I realized how powerful my worrying had been in attracting exactly what I was worrying about, exactly what I DIDN’T want to happen!
So, let my painful, drawn out experience be a lesson to you—whatever you focus on, whether it be a positive or negative thing, you will eventually manifest it in your life. It may not be as clear or severe as a broken bone, but the sooner you pay attention to the way you think and feel and act and the way things play out in your life, the sooner you will realize how powerful you truly are. Like any great king or queen, it is important to not abuse your power so don’t let negativity rule your mind, heart and soul because its power can make or “break” you! Haha
Here’s to the power of positive thought attracting happy things into our live
